COVID-19 has hit the wedding industry hard. How are weddings supposed to be hosted with shelter-in-place orders, social distancing recommendations, and families all over taking economic hits because of it? It’s not an easy road map to navigate, and it continues to change week to week. However, with new realities come new opportunities to flip our thinking, get creative, and march toward new solutions in order to continue offering the best experiences we can. While we don’t know exactly when large gatherings like weddings will begin again, we’re hopeful that once they do, they’ll come roaring back. In the meantime, the best thing we can do is position ourselves for the uptick.
There are still newly engaged couples in the hunt for a 2021 wedding venue, however, right now it’s near impossible to give in-person tours to prospective clients. Many venues have excellent pictures or 3D virtual tours showcasing the space, but as a recent newlywed who just went through this process, I found that these did not accurately represent the size, decorum, and vibe I experienced once I stepped foot in the venue. While I’ve noticed a few savvy venues are offering virtual tours, I can’t imagine an iPhone or webcam really sells a space as well as the real tour, but hey, it keeps the pipeline alive, and is a quick placeholder for the time being.
However, given everything we’re experiencing right now, this is where a wedding venue video walkthrough has the power to not only offer what you cannot do in person, but it also has the power to grow your business now and in the future. When done right, a video truly captures the essence of the space and gives a succinct, step-by-step tour that makes people feel like they’ve already walked through the entire place. If you’re offering virtual tours currently, this video would help drastically help to improve the quality of those tours and automate them so you don’t have to spend time walking through the space repeatedly for potential clients. It also gives couples the confidence that they’ve experienced an accurate representation of exactly what they’re paying for. In addition, it can also be used as a video marketing tool throughout the year on Instagram and Facebook, funneling leads to the venue’s website and increasing bookings.
